I, being a Gastroenterologist or Hepatologist pledge as follows:

1. I, a Liver Specialist, pledge to order sufficient information in advance required for –

Blood tests

Liver Scans

Any other scans a deemed necessary, including other body organs, in relation

to the Liver.

2. I will provide my patient at the patient appointment with a response to Radiologist

report, advice re -

Liver Reports

Liver Scans

This response to the patient will be by –

- Confirmation verbally and in writing  that the Radiologist reports are accura

   reports.

- Showing of pertinent information to a patient on a scan at the appointment.

- Wrtten advice in a reasonable time to the patient’s GP.

3. I will answer all questions that the patient asks me. Should I not have the answers to those questions, I shall either –

- Provide/offer another appointment to the patient at my office at the usual cost (or free ( if Public Hospital) as soon as practically possible.

- Refer the patient to a Liver Specialist that can answer the patient’s questions.

4. I will provide a 100% diagnosis where practiacbnly possible. In the absence of a 100% diagnosis I shall provide my best opinion on a chance of probability basis, to the best of my ability. If  100% diagnosis is not possible, I am not reponsible legally for any best opinion. A legall disclaimer will apply.

5. Any legal constraints or other constraints of providing diagnosis or opinions should be advised to the patient at the time of appointment.

6. I will provide external information brochures or internet information to the patient

as is deemed necessary by myself, in order to facilitate knowledge to the patient.

This will assist in saving time and lives for both parties, Liver specialist  and patient.
