Every blood test result is important but some are more important than others. Your Liver specialist should be able to explain the important items on the liver blood test results. Note - Professor Darrell Crawford of Queensland Gastroenterology has no ability to examine blood tests, in my opinion. Your GP can order blood tests. Also your liver specialist will order blood tests for timing around the next review.
E/LFT
Iron Studies
FBE
Vitamin A
Vitamin E
Vitamin D
HDL- Cholesterol
CRP
Coag - Scr
Zinc
Selenium
TFTH
AFP (Tumour)
HbA1c
If you lose your Liver specialist referral you could at least get your GP to order the above tests. To my knowledge you can't go wrong in ordering too many tests. Blood tests are free.
It would be a shame to miss out one of the above, I have to say, from my humble experience. There are many other blood tests for all sorts of complaints. The above is not an exhaustive list.
A big problem is that it is very hard to find online the minimum and maximums for the above. I will provide on this website that detail in the weeks to come.
Another point to note is that I have noted some differences between QML and Sullivan Nicolaides results. Your blood counts change every minute, so it is hard to know if one company is more accurate than the other.
The good news is that a GP is used to prescribing some pill and you can get an updated blood test say 2 weeks later.
The bad news is that the Liver Specialist doesn't want to see you for 6 months. So I suggest you get the above blood tests every month in the early stages. The great thing is that if you do get improvements then this gives you confidence and motivation to keep with your recovery plan, whatever that may be.

More coming.
